Water Sources
We offer our customers the choice between two water sources - Demineralized Water (Reverse Osmosis) or Rocky Mountain Spring Water (Kootenay Plains, Alberta).
At Arctic Chiller we run an extensive quality control program, which exceeds all local health guidelines and federal standards for food safety. For more information on our quality control guidelines view here. Alternatively you can send us a message through our contact form or call our office at 780.449.0459

Reverse osmosis is one of the few ways that we can take certain minerals or chemicals out of a water supply. It filters out impurities on a large scale in a way that charcoal based filters – like the ones most commonly found in homes – cant.
We start by sending Edmonton municipal source water through a carbon activated charcoal filter. This removes the chlorine and other contaminants from the water. Next, it goes through a series of filters, going from 20 microns to less than 1 micron to 1 micron to filter out any minerals, contaminants and debris. As a point of reference, the eye of a sewing needle is 1,230 microns, beach sand is from 100 - 2,000 microns, pollen is 10 - 1,000 microns and mold spores are 10 - 30 microns.
The 7-stage reverse osmosis membranes work by using a high-pressure pump to force the unfiltered water through the semi-permeable RO membrane, leaving almost all (around 95% to 99%) of dissolved salts behind in the reject stream.
The desalinated water that is demineralized or deionized, is called permeate (or product) water. The water stream that carries the concentrated contaminants that did not pass through the RO membrane is called the reject (or concentrate) stream. After this process, the water is given a post-filtration ozonation that prevents any possible bacterial growth.
